Double Dragon: 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Back in the late 80's early 90's, Double Dragon was an old Nintendo game that I played when I was a kid. The game was about twin brothers fighting against the Black Warriors with only three moves, kick, jump and punch. Now in 2011 The Genesis Coupes have come out to play and have a lot more to fight with than three action buttons.

The Coupe comes in two packages: a naturally aspirated, 306 hp, 3.8 liter V6, or Turbo, 210 hp, 2.0 4-cylinder engine. Base, Track, Grand Touring, and R-spec packages are also available at different price points with different options and accessories but the 2 door Genesis starts around 22k. The whopper warranty and list of standard features make either coupe a winner in it's class. Regular competition would include the likes of the RX-8, 350Z, G37 coupe, and two V6 pony cars (Mustang, and Camaro).

The Genesis was introduced in 2009 as a 2010 model and has been a pretty good seller. Rhys Millen has done some pretty tricky stuff to his factory donated Coupe and you should check out some of the recent videos and pictures that have been taken of pikes peak, pretty sweet!

These two twin brothers, one in blue and the other in red, are the Track packages of the 2.0T and the 3.8 V6. Upgrades include a Brembo braking system, HID headlights, Limited slip rear differential, 19" staggered alloys wheels, Spoiler, and a track tuned suspension.

The Genesis Coupe is a worthy competitor to any rear-wheel drive sports coupe. 0-60 mph takes about 6.4 seconds in the V6 and only 6.8 in the turbo. 5 speed auto or 6 speed manual in the turbo or 6 speed auto and manual in the V6 makes gets you in the right gear to get up and move too! Handling is sharp and responsive, but you can kick out the back end when you need to (or want to). The styling on the Coupe is very unique and gets a lot of looks as you blow their doors off too!
