Review: 2011 Hyundai Genesis Sedan

The first time I drove a Genesis Sedan was a few years ago and I was pretty impressed. I was working at a Mitsubishi store back then and didn't really have anything to compare it with. Now working here with Hyundai for the past few years I am more and more impressed with the big body sedan. It has excellent quality and fit and finish and rides amazing.

My favorite thing about the Genesis is the quiet ride and the handling of the vehicle. We have had a lot of construction on the major highway next to the dealership but the Genesis Sedan smooths everything out and handles the road like a pro even though it is a new comer to the large premium sedan party.

A few things that people will love owning this car is the low cost of maintenance, great fuel economy, and astronomical warranty. Owners of German and Japanese competition can attest to the high prices of repairs and maintenance at their local dealerships. With the Genesis it does not require synthetic motor oil, so oil changes can be as low as $19.99 instead of $190!

The engine can run on 85 octane fuel (with a small adjustment for power) and that can save a lot with the the V6 achieving up to 32 mpg and 30 mpg with the V8. The V6 and V8 both have timing chains so there will be no big servicing at 60k and iridium spark plugs can go loner for tune ups.

"Puts power down like a BMW and rides like a Lexus" is the phrase I like to use, but was originally coined by Road and Track. The V8 makes 385 horsepower and the V6 makes 290 horsepower so in either version the Genesis gets up and moves in a hurry. There are two 6 speed transmissions available in the Genesis the V6 gets a tried and tested Aisin and the V8 gets a beastly ZF. Loads of technology, voice command, and a Multi-media controller make the Genesis really fun and futuristic. The V8 was awarded one of the top ten engines in the world by Wards as well

The Genesis comes with a 10 year / 100,000 miles powertrain warranty, 5 year / 60,000 miles bumper to bumper coverage, and a 5 year roadside assistance program with trip interruption. Hyundai is packing a huge punch in the premium market with this sedan packaged with value up to the sunroof.
